Mr. Olmedo Sanjur

Biography

Mr. Olmedo Sanjur joined the Firm in 1990 and specializes in Administrative, Contentious-Administrative and Constitutional processes, the latter two being litigated before the Supreme Court of Justice.

Mr. Sanjur also provides advice in the negotiation of contracts with public and private individuals, as well as in matters of Civil and Commercial Law.

Before joining the Firm, Mr. Sanjur had a successful career in different areas of the public sector, such as:

– Attorney General of the Administration of Panama (1985 – 1990)

– Legal Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic of Panama (1984)

– Judge of the Supreme Court of Panama (1979 – 1982)

– Director of Legal Advisory of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Panama (1967 – 1979)

– Secretary General of the Attorney General’s Office of the Nation (1962 – 1967)

External Legal Consultant of the Comptroller General of the Republic in different periods, as well as in several other state agencies.

– Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Panama and the Santa María La Antigua Catholic University (1968 – 2011)

– Member of the Inter-American Juridical Committee of the OAS (1995 – 1998)

– Member of the Board of Directors, Panamanian Tourism Institute (DATE)
